Chris Keir is back with JG Racing for 2021

We are delighted to announce that Chris Keir is back for another Season of the KTEC sponsored 750mc Clio 182 Championship.

Chris joined us as a complete newcomer in 2020, and having never raced competitively before, he managed to secure a handful of top 5 results for the team. Including multiple top 3 placed qualifying finishes and a 4th place overall finish at Brands Hatch in the rain!

We are all set for testing with Chris ahead of the season in just 5 weeks and look forward to working with Chris again this year. His energy and determination to succeed fits perfectly with our team ethos.

Watch this space for more information regarding the launch of Chris’s cars livery in a few weeks time.

Gareth Tansey returns for unfinished business

We are delighted to have signed Gareth Tansey for the 2021 season of the 750mc Clio 182 Championship.

Gareth first raced with JG Racing last season for a few rounds following a break from the Championship and Motorsport in general.

Having brushed off the cobwebs, Gareth is now keen to commit to as much as this season as possible (covid depending) and is looking forward to some JG Racing coaching during our pre-season test programme.

Gareth improved upon every round last year and the team are looking forward to working with Gareth again to continue that progression.

Larkin takes first Win

Another great weekend’s racing for JG Racing at Oulton Park for the 3rd round of the 750MC – Clio 182 Championship. A huge thanks to the whole team and of course our amazing sponsors All First Aid Training, Essex Driver Training Ltd, Up To Plate, Saffron Apparel Ltd and joining us for this weekend and the remainder of the season.. an old friend of the team… Icon-Engineering.

For this weekend we were also looking after guest driver Josh Larkin in his #13 car making us a 4 car team! Josh also took his first ever podium and an inherited first ever win when JG Racing’s Scott Edgar was demoted from 1st to 5th after a racing incident in the second race.

On the whole it was a great weekend for all of our drivers, with a special mention also to novice Chris Keir who took 3rd in Qualifying, his best so far and the fastest JG Racing car overall. It was also great to see 3 of our cars qualifying in the top 7 for race 1.

Scott Edgar now leads the Championship (before dropped scores) as we head to Mallory Park in October.

First Win for Edgar and JG Racing

What a fantastic weekend at our local track Brands Hatch in the second round of the 750mc Clio 182 Championship. Scott Edgar claimed his and the team’s first ever win after taking 2nd in race one. With the overall Championship win now a real possibility, this shortened (Due to Covid-19) season is shaping up to be very exciting.

Chris Kier (having never been to brands, never driven in the wet and was competing in his 2nd ever race weekend) came 7th in race 1 and then 4th in race two after a cracking drive. And our no. 26 driver Gareth Tansey followed up with a 21st and 20th improving in what was very tricky conditions all day.

We cant thank the whole JG Racing family enough and are so proud of the achievements and all those yet to come. Huge efforts made over the last few months and we are finally getting the rewards.

Massive thanks again to our sponsors and supporters who have helped us continue pushing forward in this strange covid ridden 2020.

Tansey Completes 2020 Line Up

Our third and final driver confirmed for the first race of the 2020 season will be Gareth Tansey.⁣

Tansey, a returnee to the Championship with a number of top ten results to his name has signed for the first round with a view to complete the season.⁣

It’s going to be fantastic to have Gareth on board, who will race alongside Championship contender @scott_edgar and new-comer Chris Kier next weekend at Snetterton. ⁣

Gareth, who took a break from racing in 2019, following some bad luck in the Championship in 2018, is looking for a change in fortune and hopes that JG Racing will be able to guide and push him further up the grid…. so podiums it is then.

Welcome to the team Gareth!⁣

Edgar Is Back for 2020!

Following a successful 2019, Scott Edgar has re-signed for JG Racing for what will be a reduced ten round 2020 season.⁣

Edgar and the team started 2019 with 7 consecutive top five finishes, achieving multiple podiums. Having finished 2019 in an overall driver standings position of 4th place, Scott and the team are excited about the prospect of winning more races and (dare we say) the overall Championship in 2020.⁣

With both Scott and Chris Keir confirmed for the start of the season, we have just on more driver announcement… #staytuned

The season will start on the 18th July at Snetterton 200 and will be streamed live by @alphaliveproductions
