Bringing it home at Brands Hatch

It’s safe to say that Brands Hatch holds a special place in our hearts here at JG Racing. Being our home circuit, we have in previous years had a lot of success here. We took a five-car strong team to the Longfield circuit, excitingly with a guest drive from our head mechanic Steven Gray #9.

The Brands Hatch ‘Indy’ Loop is an exciting circuit. With only five corners and a sub minute lap, mistakes can be very costly, and racing is always tight.

Qualifying

After a solid day (Friday) testing for the team, we went into qualifying on the front foot. An outstanding performance from Jason Pelosi #77 saw him take P2 (Class B) and a front row start overall. Alex Kilbey #85 was our highest performing driver in the 182’s finishing P5 (Class A), followed by Josh North #10 who was P6 (Class A) in the JG Racing team car. Alex Burridge #23 took P7 (Class A) and Steven Gray #9 qualified P9 0.01 behind Alex.

Race One

Race one saw Jason Pelosi in his Team Deranged 197 storm to a victory in both Class B and overall. After a red flag on the first lap, the race was restarted. Jason took the lead early on and after a close battle with fellow 197 competitor Ben Swift, Jason took the victory.

Equally brilliant effort from Alex Kilbey who battled his way up to finish P3 (Class A), Steven Gray driving the DUS Lighting sponsored team car finished P5 (class A) and Josh North finished P6 (Class A).

Alex Burridge managed to battle his way up to P3 in class but unfortunately received a penalty which saw him eventually finish P8 (Class A)

Race Two

Race two saw a safety car 3 laps in due to a stranded car at Surtees. Once racing got back under way, it saw another close battle at the front between the 197’S.

Jason Pelosi had another fantastic drive finishing P3 (Class B) and fastest lap in class. Special guest driver Steven Gray stormed through the pack to finish an impressive P3 (Class A). Alex Kilbey continued his strong performance over the weekend to finish P4 (Class A). Alex Burridge came across the line in P5 (Class A) and Josh North was P8 (Class A)

Brands Hatch as always, delivered. We saw a lot of podiums and some great performances from the whole team. We also had the pleasure to host our title partners DUS Group ltd  and we are looking forward to more exciting events with them throughout the season.

As always, thankyou for the efforts of the JG racing support team for keeping the cars competitive all weekend.
